My favorite weird Suze fact is that a painted wall advertisement for it is visible in the final battle scene in Saving Private Ryan.

Matt, j'adore mes espadrilles rouges achetées au Hypermarché à Bordeaux l'an dernier pour moins de 10 $. You can and do wear them everywhere - as I did in my younger days. But, although they certainly look better than Kirks, the don't provide any arch support. So I wear my Birks or Mephistos everyday and keep my espadrilles for days when I don't have to walk a lot. Wait until you get my age and you will understand!!

Jaja, I woke up this morning after a dream where I was wearing espadrilles. My wife and I always go antiquing on Sundays, and I told her I felt like I was going to find a pair. She asked, "What are espadrilles?" Then, the first antique stall we hit, I find deadstock vintage yellow espadrilles . . . in her size. $5. Now she is in love with espadrilles and I am envious. We just got home, I opened my inbox, and wow, WMB is talking about espadrilles. Go figure.

Matt- thanks again for the great content. Castaner hands down makes the best espadrilles around- both my wife and I have multiple pairs and are well worth the additional cost to get a pair that will last a couple of years. Santé!!

I need to try that French Negroni! Love espadrilles in summer too, but choices are limited in the States. Anywhere on this side of the pond you like getting them?

Thank you for spreading the espadrille gospel. Just finished my fitting with Gianluca. Can’t wait for the finished product.
