Surely most euro vacay spots have an easily accessible espadrille vendor that one can purchase some disposable poolside footwear, eh? Although, S&W does up the game a bit. Enjoy the summer!

Matt,

Enjoying the new issue. Noticed the piece on Quintessence. One of the authors, Owen Edwards is a good friend. Lives in Sonoma. He has a distinguished background in publishing and editing. Also a Ducati nut. Next time you are in SF, I’ll try to put us together.

Following my chef friends advice, quality ingredients make a world of difference. I've found using a better Prosecco (I like Mionetto, not expensive but made with organic grapes and has a dry taste) with a splash of Fever Tree club soda makes the the best Aperol Spritz. At a recent spa visit in Saturnia, the bartender skipped the club soda and did a 50/50 Aperol and premium Prosecco. Give both of these a try and see what you like.

Hey Matt! Seeing as you're over here for the summer, is there any chance of getting the Negroni prints (or a high resolution digital file) to us European fans of yours? And if you're ever up Torino way or pop over into Hautes-Alpes then give me a shout (@felixrunswatches), would love to buy you a drink in a piazza or up a mountain one day! Cheers and have a great summer 🥂 🍹 🇮🇹 🇫🇷 ☀

I’m aiming for a Rome-Florence trip within a the year (first visit) - have you or Yolanda already shared recent suggestions for things to see and place to eat, if not I hope you will soon.

A Total Wine just opened near me and they have Select and my neighbor has an orange tree so I’ll be spritzing very soon.

Enjoy your time in Italy, hope you’ll swing through L.A. this Fall.

Glad to read the Delsey shout out. Bought one more than a dozen years ago before my honeymoon. It’s finally starting to break down, but has served me faithfully.

How do you usually get to Bordeaux directly from Charles-de-Gaulle if you are not stopping in Paris? The train from CDG is not direct, so options would be to take a taxi from CGD to Paris Montparnasse to catch the TGV or to fly to Bordeaux from CDG. Wondering which would be more efficient...

Your bag info is spot on.

I fought the rolling bag for years. Once I caved, it made life a bit easier when doing the 5 mile March across the Doha airport.

Away makes a solid roller.

For car travel, I am a full on vintage Hartmann fan. Love that such quality is available for such small money.

We don’t do duffels….never really have. We are old school REI Eagle Creek bag offering fans. Takes a beating and keeps on going.

Keep on trucking!

Have you checked out Sabah for Turkish leather slippers and slides? They’re for men and women and look very much like the velvet Venetian slippers you’re familiar with. The slides are instantly comfortable.
