A dispatch from the Roman Barbershop
I am spoiled. When I’m in Rome I go for a straight razor shave around three times a week. My friend Bob (Roberto) has the most amazing barber shop in Rome. It is called Genco Barbiere, at the end of street called Via Portoghesi in the center of the city, and it’s conveniently a three minute walk from my apartment. The building dates to when Caravaggio was roaming these exact streets finding subjects for his paintings, getting in sword fights and most likely getting a haircut in the same location as Genco.
