I’m taking a break from putting together the fall issue of Wm Brown—which I’m very excited to share with you in a few weeks’ time—to honor another seasonal tradition: The Fall Kit List. From tweed jackets to turtlenecks, car coats to corduroy, the dozens of items below represent both the gear I live and travel in, and what I’m hoping to add to my closet next. So, grab a glass or your favorite brown spirit, find a cozy reading spot and dig in.
OUTERWEAR
Yes, this is the big one, and precisely why I love fall—being able to dress in layers again! Of said layers, Sid Mashburn has a hard-to-beat chore coat in a number of fabrics, with my favorites being the Italian sage corduroy and a delightful wool patchwork. Polo has for this season produced a belted utility jacket that sits in that Barbour International/Belstaff sweet spot but comes in a really interesting sage brown that I’ve never seen from other makers.
