This latest dispatch from Italy starts and ends in Rome. We landed a couple weeks ago, picked up the latest Land Rover 90 from our friends at Land Rover Italia and made the drive north to Tuscany—Maremma to be exact—and stayed in the countryside at the fab Castello di Vicarello. The Vicarello was at the end of their season, but we were lucky enough to stay for literally the last two days that they were open, sample the wine from their property (they make a terrific Sangiovese), hunt wild boar at nearby hunting estate (more on that in the next issue of WMB), and eat ragu from the spoils of the hunt! There was a bit of a road trip from there making our way to Modena for a quick event at Maserati, and from there to the magical hillsides of Abruzzo with our friends from Giuliva Heritage. Finally, we made the drive south to Salerno to drive the Lancia Berlina I bought over lockdown, spending one night in Naples, one of my all time favorite cities. Now back in Rome winding down to head back to NY, I sit here and give my list of favorites, highlights, and must dos from my trip.
